About Zona Kids

Aprende, Crea & Have fun!

We are a company built with heart, focused on enriching children's learning in a very personal way. We offer Spanish classes for children ages 3-12 and STEAM classes for children ages 6-11.

Our mission is to provide quality education with genuine care, ensuring each student feels valued and supported throughout their learning journey.

At Zona Kids, we understand that creativity, motivation, and participation are the most important ingredients for success in acquiring a new language and developing new skills.

Spanish classes, led by Soly Florez, are crafted to engage children through songs, stories, games, and hands-on activities, making learning Spanish fun and positive.

Our STEAM classes are focused on developing skills that not only spark an interest in engineering but also foster oral expression skills as children share what they design, teamwork, problem-solving in the community, and much more.

Benefits:

Increases in grey matter densitystudies have shown that speakers of several languages have a higher density of grey matter in areas of the brain related to language and cognitive control.

Promotes cognitive reserve: learning and using multiple languages throughout life can contribute to increased cognitive reserve, which is the brain’s ability to compensate for damage caused by brain injury or neurodegenerative diseases.

Strengthens neural connections: language learning strengthens neural connections in the brain, especially in areas related to memory, attention and language.

Who is Soly Florez?

Soly is the founder of Zona Kids and a Spanish Tutor. Her desire to help and serve others led her to study Elementary Education in her home country, Colombia.

Soly has worked for over 12 years in community programs, schools, and churches in various programs focused on teaching, contributing, and supporting children in different stages of learning.

Soly is a homeschooling mother of two bilingual kids and has seen the immense advantages that bilingualism offers. She has also observed the need for families around her to connect with their roots, and community, as Spanish connects families and generations, opens doors, and enhances cognitive functions. Her passion for Spanish has led her to create, inspire, and teach Spanish to other children in her community.

“Spanish is my passion."
